Love Says No

When someone asks us
to go somewhere
but we don't feel good
about going
Love says no.

When someone close
wants us to prove
How much we love
by giving in,
Love says no.

Love know how
to draw lines,
set limits,
ad keep its own standards.

Love is careful
to give
what's worth giving
and keep
what's worth keeping.
And love knows the difference.

When someone dares us
to prove our love
by doing something dumb
or by compromising,
Love says no.

Love is saying yes.
Love is saying maybe.
Love is saying wait.
And love is saying no way.
