I don't mean to sound corny, but I'm truly thankful for first signs of the Fall. This morning, I got out to the deck to take close off the line and what I saw just mesmerized me. It was 4:40am and the sky was still black. There were stars everywhere, the Milky Way in all it's glory, I turned off the deck lights and stood there looking up until I got cold. The air was crisp and fresh and I felt like a tiny little speck looking up at the Universe. I guess I'm a bit Romantic and always loved looking at the stars. This was a perfect moment. Then, on the way back home from the city, I noticed the forest along the highway. It is no longer green, like it was two weeks ago before I left the country. Today it was just beginning to change. I love this time of the year, when each day I can enjoy the drive home along the spectacular show of colours and witness the beauty of Nature changing all around me. The days are still deliciously warm, but the promise of winter time is just around the corner. It feels so good to have this beauty all around me and be lucky enough to live here. I'm thankful for that. |
