I have hit a major rut in my life, I normally do not just post things personal but I really need some help. In the last two years I have gained over 100 lbs, and that is since my husband and I got married, when we met I was pushing 270 lbs. I do not have the support system that I need to get motivated and stay motivated. My husband can drop weight like no body elses business, me I gain weight just thinking about trying to loose it. I am a very picky eater, and I eat normally 2 to 4 times a day, less if I am busy and more if I have nothing else to do. I am a pop drinker, I know it is very bad for me, but it is like my addiction that I can not get rid of without someone helping me, and I love my sweets, Im not going to lie I am a big sweet eater also. I am a emotional eater if I am mad that is normally were I turn to. We are trying to get me onto my husbands insurance so that I can have the weightloss surgery done, because I have been on the DR's supervised diet and have lost 5 lbs, I have tried everything else out there and still no luck. My wish is for someone to help me develop a meal plan and an exercise plan or somewhere to just call and get my butt into gear. I need some one to motivate me or something. I know what I need to do, I just do not know where to start or how to keep going. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks for taking the time to read my wish. |

Welcome to the Tree of Wishes! Looks like you need to check on couple of things before you committ to yet another program. You are only 24, but I would your doctor to check if your hormones are ballanced. You may be Insuline Resistant. To get you going... I used to LOVE Pepsi, in fact back in college my day would start with one, since I didn't drink coffee. Than I realized that I craved the... bubbles! I switched to low sodium club soda. Still lots of bubbles! Start slowly and see where it goes. Make concious decisions when shoping. Never go shoping hungry! You are in control at the grocery store. If it doesn't make it into your cart... it doesn't make it into your home. Be honest with yourself. Don't buy that chocolate bar for your little boy. He will not miss it! You know YOU will eat it in the end, anyway. Poke around at this site: Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople it's a great place to start. I'm sure you know what the consequences may be if you stay like you are right now. You have a beautiful little boy... and he will need you well into his adulthood. You need to make sure that you are there still. Start a food journal. Write down everything that touches your lips. Be honest. You can do it. Small steps, small choices. Concentrate on one thing at a time. It takes 21 days to form a habit. Start with pop. Ban it from your home. You CAN take control over this. Concentrate on NOT having any pop for next 3 weeks. Switch to club soda with lemon. YOU CAN DO IT! One week into it, add something else, perhaps switch to olive oil when cooking. Ask you Husband to do this with you. To commit to healthy eating. This will not work if you have to cook two diners each day, because "he can eat what ever he wants". You should be in this together, no matter how skinny he is. Love this will be a long journey, but you can do it. I will be praying for you. HUGS!

A friend of mine and I have joined together to form a weightloss support unofficial group, on facebook. If you would like to join us, just join facebook and add me to your friends list. As I am new to facebook and in my 60s, so still learning the newer benefits online, I don't know yet how to form an official group on facebook, but a weightloss support group surely would be great. I have home gym equipment. However, before when I lost weight, I found the Blood Type diet to be great. I am also a sweet eater, but have now been free of sweets for 4 days and over a week taking out eating the sweets I usually ate daily. Pop is nothing but flavored sugar syrup and causes all kinds of health problems, just as any addiction does. Whenever one indulges in sweets, it causes the body to crave more. A total fast from all sweets, replacing with nature's sweets, such as apples, grapes...the sweet fruits helps the cravings, I found. I also, this week finally broke through the 220 wall and am now 219. I was 223, headed to my highest weight in 2006 of 225. So, definitely time for me to take action. I hope you do well. If you want to connect with me and have a weightloss buddy, just add me to your friends list....then I will add you to mine. Blessings, NativeHeartLLC/Linda PS I am LLCURRAN on facebook Last edited by NativeHeartLLC; Nov 20, 2009 at 05:14 PM. Reason: Add information |

I can really help with this. I have been anorexic, I have been regualr weight, i was the head exercise and nutritionist at Bally's fitness years ago. I ballooned up to 227 and have lost 80 pounds. I know and I mean I KNOW all about health and calories and exercise and motivation. If you want to email, just PM me, if you want to talk and we both have ATT or if we both have free weekends....if you have someone else that will help you that is great. I am just offering to really BE THERE, not once in a while post, but daily to be there for you, that is what it takes. Michele |

I can relate to this one too !! I HAD the gastric bypass surgery . I had gained 120 lbs. After a back injury & surgery . I couldn't take it anymore . I'd look in the mirror and get sick at what I saw . Anyway the Dr. told me he would do the surgery , but not the laprascopic . He cuts from the breastbone to the navel . That WEAKENS your abodomal muscles , you can het what they call Ventral Hernis (s) . And that's Exactly what happened to me . I had to go back in for Hernia repair . That lasted about a year , and I had to go in again . This time he told me I had quadruple hernia repair , and put the mesh in ( Insurance said I HAD TO HAVE THE MESH ) <--- %$@#%$% . I came home from the hospital a week later , feeling weak as all heck . I couldn't get a shower . I had to get out & sit on the commode to dry off. As it turned out , the THIRD day HOME ... My mom took me to my family Dr. and he sent me for blood cultures ( IN MY Eveningwear aka Nitegown & robe ) <--- I could not dresss myself ! By the fourth day , the dr's office called and said to rush me to the hospital ASAP... I had a full blown Staph Infection ! I was in and out of catscan faster than a race car and the Dr. came through the door , looked at me and said Emergency Surgery RIGHT NOW ! I found out the day after surgery ( he had already told my son ) that I was dying from the infection , and would have by the next day if I hasn't gotten there when I did . He told me when he opened me up he took out OVER a liter of Pus out of me ! AND my tissues were LOADED in the color of black ( they were necrotic ) . The surgeon had to leave the O.R. and go looking for another surgeon on the floor as he didn't know WHAT to do with me--I was SO BAD. He found a plastic surgeon on the floor and asked him to come in and help him . He did . This surgeon saved my life that day . I call him My Angel on earth ! I call him Dr. C ! I was in intensive care for another week and that was the start of my 18 MORE surgeries in 16 months . The Dr. had to put in a 6lb muscle graft in me from a CADAVER to hold things in place for me . Believe me when I tell you.... Think about this VERY HARD and be careful in choosing a Dr. and their " Technique " for this surgery . I am still having problems with it . I fell up a set of hardwood steps and felt my insides Shift and sound squishy . I saw the Dr. and he said it's a central buldge . Nothing being done about it at this time . But... I did lose 100 lbs and am holding . Thank GOD for that ![]() . But even more....THANK GOD he let me live !!!!![]() |
